Towards 6G: Evolution, standardization and enabling technologies

Iyad Dayoub, Professor

Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University (UPHF)

Abstract:

6G is expected to go beyond traditional notions of wireless connectivity, aiming to integrate various emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), holographic communication, the Internet of Things (IoT) and the tactile Internet. These applications (i.e., telemedicine, ITS, etc.) will require not only ultra-high data rates and low latency, but also new network architecture and service paradigms.

Although 6G is still in the early stages of development, standardization efforts and research into enabling technologies are already underway.

In this conference, we will present the evolution towards 6G, as well as emerging technologies for the next generation of wireless communications. In addition, these technologies will be discussed. We will then discuss the challenges and future research directions for the development of 6G.
